Award Programs

AGC Georgia and AGC of America provide year-round opportunities to recognize your company and employees for excellence in construction best practices, safety performance, and impactful partnerships. Earning these distinctions enhances your company’s reputation—helping you stand out when pursuing new projects and attracting or retaining top talent. Recognition also boosts employee morale and pride, reinforcing a culture of excellence within your organization.

The AGC Build Georgia Award Program recognizes construction excellence for projects completed in Georgia by association members. Winning projects are announced at AGC Georgia’s Annual Convention each June.

The nomination portal opens each December and project narratives and supporting materials are due each year in late January.

AGC Georgia’s Amerson Supervisor Safety Award recognizes individual achievements in safety excellence by field personnel (i.e. superintendents and foremen) based on no lost time accidents in the previous calendar year.

Nominations for this award are due in mid-January with recipients honored each spring at regional ceremonies around Georgia.

AGC Georgia’s SIR Award is the highest honor given to a deserving individual.

AGC Corporate Safety Awards are presented in partnership with AGC of America. This program compares contractor members’ safety statistics against data from their peers (similar man-hours and type of work) across the nation to determine the top winners.

Nominations for this award are due in mid-January with the winning firms announced at AGC Georgia’s Annual Convention each June.

Melissa Henderson

2023 -2024
YLP Member of the Year

2024 YLP Member of the Year

Excerpted from comments by Brian Newsome, 2023-2024 President, during the award presentation ceremony at the 2024 Annual Convention . . .

Melissa was integral in all three of the YLP’s key objective areas. For charitable works efforts, she coordinated all of the raffle prizes for the group’s annual Golf Classic which helped raise thousands of dollars. She was also intimately involved in designing the YLP curriculum for their professional development roundtable programs. She also embraced the “unofficial” role of communications guru for the 20+ YLP Council members as they worked to onboard new members and communicate the year’s networking, charitable and professional development events. Melissa is a true friend and a phenomenal example of a leader. The path she has blazed is a true testament to just how much YLP helps boost your professional career.
