Member Benefits
A general contractor’s dues investment is based on its Gross Construction Revenue (GCR) from all public and private work in Georgia during the firm’s most recently completed fiscal year. Below you will find answers to commonly asked questions by prospective firms.
Our team would be honored to learn more about your general contracting firm and help answer additional questions you may have. Please contact Machell Harper, Senior Director of Member Services at 678.298.4108 or by email at harper@agcga.org.
-
What is the definition of covered work for the purpose of determining my GCR?
-
What is the verification method of reporting my firm's GCR to AGC Georgia?
A firm can use any financial report available to determine their GCR. Traditionally, general contractor firms refer to their audited reports or CPA generated reports. A firm is welcome to provide this documentation at time of their application for membership, but they are not required.
All AGC Georgia asks is that your GCR be signed by the President, Chief Executive Officer, or Chief Operating Officer. This is based on the honor system and follows the association’s motto of: Skill, Integrity and Responsibility.
-
When is payment due and what are the payment options?
Each year’s dues are payable in full or quarterly installments with the full payment due January 31 or quarterly payments due each January 31, April 30, July 31 and October 31.
-
Is non-payment a form of terminating my firm's membership in the AGC Georgia?
It is not the policy of AGC Georgia to automatically terminate memberships. Accordingly, it is the responsibility of the member to inform the chapter, specifically Machell Harper, Senior Director of Member Services if you do not intend to renew.
-
How do I report my firm's GCR to AGC Georgia?
Please review the below chart to determine what category is appropriate for your firm based on your GCR figure from your most recently completed fiscal year.
Each August, after your firm initially joins the association, someone from your leadership team will be asked to complete an updated GCR form representing the most current fiscal year’s volume.
-
When will our firm be invoiced?
Upon joining AGC Georgia your firm will be invoiced for a full year (12 months regardless of the month membership is approved by the Board of Directors).
After the first anniversary of membership, your firm will be invoiced for the remaining months in that calendar year.
After the partial invoice representing your second year of membership, the association staff will invoice all members each December for the following calendar year’s dues investment.
-
Are my firm's dues a business expense?
Completed applications for membership are presented to the association's Board of Directors for approval.
